Italy to recruit migrant workers in Lebanon, Ivory Coast and Ethiopia
Friday, 12 April 2024 () Italy has agreed to welcome 300 migrant workers from Lebanon, Ivory Coast, and Ethiopia through a special initiative led by the Community of Sant'Egidio, a Catholic charity. These individuals will not be granted refugee status but will be part of a pilot project known as "work corridors." This initiative, approved by the interior ministry, aligns with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's government's stance.
