Authorities in US charged two Chinese nationals, Yicheng Zhang and Daren Li, in a $73 million cryptocurrency scam known as pig butchering. The scam laundered funds through US bank accounts to the Bahamas, leading to arrests in Los Angeles and Atlanta. The defendants instructed co-conspirators to open US bank accounts in the name of shell companies.
