IBAN rules for local and international transfers in Oman have changed: What you need to know

Starting July 1, 2025, Oman will require IBANs for all domestic bank transfers, following earlier implementation for international transfers in March 2024. The Central Bank of Oman says the move boosts accuracy and speed. Banks like Emirates NBD are urging users to update beneficiary details to avoid failed payments. International transfers to Oman no longer require IBANs.
