Russia-Ukraine conflict: Senior Russian naval officer, once awarded 'Hero of the Russian Federation' by Putin, killed in combat

Major General Mikhail Gudkov, a high-ranking Russian naval officer and a recipient of the "Hero of the Russian Federation" award, was killed on July 2nd during combat operations in the Kursk region. Gudkov, who served as deputy commander of the Russian navy, died while "carrying out his duty" amidst ongoing clashes.
