European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen says Europe will act "very decisively and collectively" to contain the spread of the new coronavirus and counter threats to the global economy brought on by the outbreak.
Von der Leyen spoke after EU and member state leaders took part in a conference call to establish a joint strategy to tackle the regional spread of Covid-19, the illness caused by coronavirus.

She made the comments during a visit to Dublin to formally approve the Irish Government’s proposals for projects funded by the European recovery and resilience plan.
