Covid-19: Dehradun administration using GPS to track people in home quarantine

Dehradun has come up with tech savvy ways to keep a check on those in home quarantine.

The administration is using a GPS tracking application to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Once downloaded in user's phone, the app sends alerts to the city's command and control centre.

Dehradun District Magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava said, "Whoever crosses border and enters state is made to download an app through which we track their movements." He added, "If there's no activity in any cell phone for half an hour, alerts are generated."
