Trump Says Unproven COVID-19 Drug Gives Him 'Additonal Level Of Safety'

President Donald Trump defended his use of hydroxychloroquine as a way to prevent getting COVID-19.

During a visit to the U.S. Capitol, he said he feels it gives him “an additional level of safety.” According to Reuters, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned about potential side effects of using the drug.

The White House physician Sean Conley said “the potential benefit from treatment outweighed the relative risks.” Vice President Mike Pence told Fox News Channel he was not taking the drug.
