Hair salons were allowed to reopen on Friday as part of Phase 2.

However, salons going forwards have to abide by strict state guidelines in order to stay open.

In phase two.

Hair salons are inlcuded in that phase.

The reopening process comes with a number of guidelines- including 50 percent capacity and mandatory face masks.

News channel 2's brent kearney went to a hair salon in new hartford and shows us how they're welcoming back their customers under these new guidelines.

"well it feels great to be back to work it's been a long time a lot longer than we thought it would be and it feels good."

Lisa frateschi's hair salon is back open after about 3 months of being closed.

And she says that she's going to play by the rules in order to keep it that way.

None "we have to have a limited amount of people in here at all times but the time in between clients we have to clean and sanitize everything all door handles flat surfaces our stations."

At this point i'll do what i have to do to keep my business going and i know it's temporary what we're not gonna have to test every two weeks for the rest of our lives so if it's going to keep me my coworkers and my clients safe i have no problem doing it.

Lisa says her businsess like many others took a big financial hit when she closed, money she says she wont get back, "their is no making that money up, that money is gone.

There's alot more time that we are taking to sanitize.

We have to buy alot more materials and products.

But you cant make up money that you lost."

How's that i feel like a new woman lisa's customers are also thrilled to be back this is the first place i was going to come as soon as i was able.

Lisa's customers do have to go through some extra procdures before sitting in the chair.

They're temperature is taken at the door and masks are required.

But her customers say its worth it.

"our hair was getting long and ay andi juy cant wait to come back for their next appointment another happy customer now time to clean and sterilize before the next one comes in.
