Reports progress in communicating with the Hispanic community about the coronavirus.

The hamilton county health deptment is working to drop hispanic covid-19 cases by using different forms of communication.

Hispanic people count for about 60 percent of cases in the county.

News 12's taylor bishop has the details.

"currently the hispanic community makes up sixty-one percent of all thye positive cases in our county.

We have seen that this number those actually decrease on june the tenth we were at sixty- nine percent and now we are down to sixty-one percent" the hamiltion heath department has created new informational videos in spanish, uin hopes it will lessen fears the department thinks contribute to this spike in that community.

"this guidence and these suggestions has been better as the community receives this information in spanish from sources like the health deapartment or the city government."

Along withy videos the heath department notes some concerning factors are that several families could be living in one household.

"one person brings it into the home then it effects several families and if their are more than one family in a household it's very difficult to isolate certain persons if they are sick.

So that is something that we are facing."

The health department says they will be adding new videos in english and spanish to their youtube channels regularly.

"we've have created a spanish facebook account, we have created a youtube channel in spanish and we provide information in their language to be able to reach them."
