C1 3 kentucky as the governor announced this afternoon...beefed- up numbers of people who will help.

The governor says the state is paying an outside source almost seven-and-a- half million dollars for one month that will triple the number of employees working on claims. three-hundred people are scheduled to begin working on monday and an additional one-hundred by july 13th.

There has been a lot of criticism and frustration among people filing jobless claims since the pandemic hit...everything from not being able to get through on a phone to never receving a check weeks or months after filing.

The governor also warning of potential budget cuts of up to 29- percent if the federal government doesn't come up with more relief money.

The governor also announcing 282 new coronavirus cases since monday and five new deaths as people are still encouraged to wear masks and socially distance.

In lexington, the health department reported 23 new cases of the coronavirus since yesterday and one death.

And it's interesting...of those 23 new cases...only four people are over the age of 55.

The health department says the lone death was a woman in her 60's who lived at pine meadows nursing home...which has had four coronavirus- related deaths, according to the state.
