"Our agricultural sector has again shown its prowess during Corona crisis. Our farming sector, our farmers, our villages are the foundation of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. If they are strong, then the foundation of Aatmanirbhar Bharat will also be strong," said Modi.

Indian and Japanese Navies conducted joint military exercise in North Arabian Sea. Weapon firing, anti-submarine, and air warfare drills were part of the joint naval exercise. The exercise is coinciding with china's increasing tension with neighbours, especially India. China's expansionist attempts in South China sea are also irking nations like USA and Japan. The fourth edition of India-Japan's 'jimex' drill is being conducted in North Arabian Sea from September 26 to 28. Indian warships Teg, Tarkash, Chennai and fleet tanker Deepak, and Japan's Kaga & Ikazuchi were part of the drill. Jimex is conducted biennially, with the last edition held in oct 2018 off the coast of Visakhapatnam. Days earlier, India and Australia navies had held joint exercise in east indian ocean region. It was a passage exercise which are held when the opportunity arises, unlike pre-planned exercises.

Mortal remains of singer SP Balasubrahmanyam was brought to his farmhouse in Thamaraipakkam village of Thiruvallur district on September 25 for last rites. The legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam died at the age of 74. Balasubrahmanyam was admitted to Chennai's MGM hospital after symptoms of coronavirus. Balasubrahmanyam's close ones and people paid their last respects to him.
DMK MP Kanimozhi has said that a CISF officer at the Chennai airport asked her if she was Indian, when she could not speak Hindi. The DMK MP said that they were going through security checking when she requested a CISF official to speak in Tamil or English since she did not understand Hindi. The DMK MP said that the officer then asked if she Indian at all and questioned since when is being Indian equal to knowing Hindi. The DMK MP's complaint led to the CISF ordering a probe into the incident. The DMK MP further said that the beauty of the country lies in its diversity and inclusiveness and condemned the incident. Meanwhile, former Union Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram also came out in support of Kanimozhi and said that such incidents are not unusual. He added that he had faced similar incidents in the past. 'If the Central government is genuinely committed to both Hindi and English being the official languages of India, it must insist that all central government employees are bilingual in Hindi and English,' said Chidambaram.
