Teenager shares her cancer survival scrapbook

A schoolgirl whose cancer was mistaken for exhaustion caused by end of year exam stress has revealed how she documented her year-long battle with the disease in a highly personal scrapbook.Ella Richards, 16, had been counting the days until her family jetted to Kalamata in southern Greece for a perfectly timed 10 day break at the end of her first GCSE year in July 2019 - only to start feeling poorly half way through. When she was too tired to join in with her brother Charlie, 15, and sister Scarlet, 12, teaching assistant mum Melanie, 49, and graphic designer dad Gavin, 52, they all put her fatigue down to stress, following a hectic term of mock exams and coursework. But, on returning home, a bout of pneumonia landed her in hospital, where swollen lymph nodes led to further investigations and the shocking revelation that the teenager, of Henley-in-Arden, in Warwickshire, had high grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma - an aggressive form of cancer in the lymphatic system.
