COVID: Hyderabad entrepreneur develops software to track availability of beds

Hyderabad-based entrepreneur Arun Varma, has developed 'covidbedavailability.in', a software to help COVID-19 patients to locate hospitals with bed availability.

He said, "This solution is designed for Govt to run their war rooms, control rooms and hospitals." Objective behind the development was to help patients to easily access information.

A total of 32,224 confirmed cases have been recorded in Telangana so far.

With 1,085 deaths in last 24 hours, the death toll rises to 90,020. Indian Council of Medical Research reported that 6,62,79,462 samples were tested up to September 22. Further, the Health Ministry informed that India's COVID-19 testing capacity surges to over 12 lakh daily tests.

COVID-19: Jodhpur district administration puts up posters to spread awareness

In wake of rising COVID infections in the state, Jodhpur district administration and Municipal Corporation launched a campaign in a bid to create awareness among public regarding COVID-19. Posters with the slogans- 'No mask - no entry' and 'No mask - no service' were pasted on vehicles. Jodhpur District Collector said, "Beside strictness, awareness is also necessary to prevent the spread of COVID. District administration, Police and Municipal Corporation are trying to create awareness among people that they won't be allowed at places or given services without masks." State government has also applied Section 144 in the state which prevents people from standing in a group.

Heavy showers overnight and Wednesday caused waterlogging at many places in Mumbai disrupting normal life in the city. Massive traffic snarls were reported from different areas while train services were also disrupted. Streets were water logged in several areas and people had to wade through knee deep water. A bus was stuck in King Circle and passengers were seen holding each other’s hand to get past water logged streets. Railway tracks were also water logged leading to cancellation of several local trains. Water also entered Nair Hospital in Mumbai which is a dedicated Covid facility. Work is underway by the civic body to clear these roads for hassle free commute. According to the India Meteorological Department, Mumbai is expected to receive moderate rains till September 28. This is the heaviest rain the suburbs received this monsoon season and IMD has warned of more rainfall in the city and suburbs. A yellow alert has also been sounded for Wednesday.
