Mayor Winnecke Extends Evansville Mask Mandate

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has extended his Executive Order that makes masks mandatory throughout the River City.

Evansville.... mayor lloyd winnecke -- extending the requirement for another week in the river city.

That decision -- based on some of the latest case trends -- including the positivity rate -- which has more than doubled in the last two weeks.

"this is a minor inconvenience, in the sense that what we're trying to do is protect the public health, because we want kids to get back to school safely.

We want businesses to rebound out of a horrendous business climate and get back to where they once were, and to do that we all have to do our part and wear a mask."

The mayor says -- the mandate will continue -- until vanderburgh county sees a prolonged downward trend in the case count.

But some continue to fight the mandate - despite -*proof that waring a mask -- can save lives.

Also in
