Governor Andy Beshear announced that he brought in Ernst & Young (EY) to help with unemployment on June 30th, he said he expected the global accounting firm would get Kentucky close to caught up with claims.

More than 29- thousand outstanding unemployment claims have been processed..
Thanks to a major partnership for the state..
But-- the 7 point 6 million dollar contract with ernst and young..is set to expire on sunday.
The company was supposed to help process 50-thousand claims..
According to our abc affiliate whas..
If the firm processes 45- hundred claims a day until the end of the week... an additional 15- hundred on saturday... more than 22-thousand claims could be left in limbo.

He thinks there is now a possibility the contract will be extended... something many people who are still waiting for unemployment
