Several fire crews are working all morning on an apartment fire in east ridge.

We got here shortly after 8am we got here shortly after 8am and could only see a cloud of smoke covering the veranda at the ridge apartments.

Check the fire upgraded to a second alarm fire.

Several different crews are here working to contain the fire and prevent spreading.

Along with fire and rescue, the red cross and animal control are on scene helping those who ran out of their apartments with their pets.

I spoke with one woman who is i spoke with one woman who is thanking god today for her safety, as she just moved out of the burning apartment complex.
