With Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and his son hospitalised in Mumbai hospital with COVID-19, celebrities from the film world and other walks of life sent in their messages wishing the duo a speedy recovery. On social media platforms, mostly Twitter and Instagram, actors including Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Boman Irani, Bhumi Pednekar, Ritiesh Deshmukh sent in their prayers and wishes. This came after the Senior Bachchan, 77, tweeted to millions of his followers: "I have tested Covid positive, shifted to hospital, hospital informing authorities, family and staff undergone tests, results awaited."

Under fire for his comments questioning late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's relationship with his father, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has now said that he too wants justice for Sushant's family. The Sena leader's comment came after he was served with a notice to apologise for his remarks. Clarifying his statement, Raut said that Sushant's family should trust the Mumbai police. 'We have full sympathy for Sushant Singh Rajput's family. Yesterday I just said that they should have some patience but it was shown that I have threatened them. Was that a threat? Trust Mumbai Police. If you think they are not doing a good job then go to CBI. They can also approach the UN and CIA,' Raut said. 'Sushant Singh Rajput was also our son. He lived in Mumbai. He was an actor. Bollywood is Mumbai's family. What enmity will we have? Even we want his family to get justice. We want the secret behind his death or suicide to come out. TV actor Sameer Sharma was found dead in his Malad apartment late on Wednesday night. Police suspected that the 44-year-old actor died by suicide. Sharma was staying at first floor of Neha CHS building, Ahinsa Marg in Malad (west). Police said a security guard found him dead and alerted society members. A case of accidental death (ADR) has been registered. Police have sent actor's body to a govt hospital for autopsy. According to police, Sharma had rented the apartment in February. Sharma had appeared in shows Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Jyoti among others. Sharma is best known for his role in the TV serial Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. The actor is also listed as a cast member in films such as Hasee Toh Phasee and Ittefaq. Sameer's death was condoled by actors Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. Sameer's last social media post, a picture of sea, was shared on Instagram on July 29.
