The Surprising Additional Benefit Of Nearly All Common Blood Pressure Meds

There's good news for people who use the most commonly used medications for high blood pressure.

According to a new study, none of them increases the risk of depression.

In fact, they may reduce it, or even prevent it.

The use of three classes of angiotensin agents, calcium antagonists, and beta-blockers was linked to a 15% decreased risk for depression.

UPI reports depression is common among patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, and stoke.

Inflammation also is common in patients with both high blood pressure and depression.

It is possible that the mechanism involved in decreasing the risk of depression is the anti-inflammatory effect among these nine medications.
