Protesters force South African beauty chain to close stores of 'racist' advert

Protesters have forced several stores of the South African health and beauty chain Clicks to close after an advert was deemed racist.

Footage filmed on September 8 shows protesters outside a store in Cape Town.

Clicks came under criticism after an advert of theirs depicted the hair of a black woman as dry and damaged and the hair of a white woman as fine and normal.

The beauty chain has announced that a senior executive responsible for placing the images has resigned and junior staff involved have been suspended.
