In the battle against the Coronavirus Pandemic, India has reached another grim milestone, as the 48 lakh mark has been breached.
A single-day spike of 92,071 cases has pushed India's coronavirus tally to 48,46, 427.
The death count has risen to 79,722 with 1,136 more fatalities in 24 hours.
Some 37,80,107 patients have recovered from the infection in the country.
India is the second worst hit in the world.
The country has been reporting the highest number of new coronavirus cases in the world with an average of 90,000 cases per day since September first week.
After US and India, The others worst hit are Brazil, Russia, Peru and Columbia.
