A laser light show at Victoria Memorial portrayed the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose during the celebrations of his 125th birth anniversary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar witnessed the spectacle. India today is giving a befitting reply wherever attempts are made to challenge its sovereignty," said PM Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off eight trains connecting Gujarat's Statue of Unity in Kevadia with different regions of the country through video conferencing on January 17. Narendra Modi said that for the first time it is happening that several trains are flagged off for reaching one particular city. PM Modi further informed that one of the trains flagged off on January 17 will originate at Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran Central Railway Station. He further said that it is a pleasant coincidence that January 17 is also observed as birth anniversary of MGR. PM Modi said, "Probably for the first time it is happening that several trains are flagged off for one particular city. Today's event in true sense is defining both Indian Railway's vision and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's mission. One of the trains flagged off for Kevadia today originates at Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran Central Railway Station. It is a pleasant coincidence that today is the birth anniversary of MGR. His life was dedicated to the service of the poor."
During the flagging off ceremony of 8 trains connecting Gujarat's Statue of Unity in Kevadiya with different regions of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this connectivity will help in changing the lives of the tribal community of Kevadiya. PM Modi further said that the rail connectivity will bring new opportunities for job and self-employment. PM Modi said, "This connectivity will be beneficial for tourists coming to see the Statue of Unity but it will also help in changing the lives of the tribal community of Kevadiya. It will bring new opportunities for job and self-employment. This rail line will also connect religious places situated on the banks of Yamuna River. Kevadiya is no longer a small block instead it is emerging as one of the tourist destination."
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on December 05 took a fresh jibe at Amit Shah and said that Congress MLAs were ashamed of seeing him as Union Home Minister. He also blamed BJP for allegedly trying to topple the state government. "They (BJP) tried to make the government fall in Rajasthan. After meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan our MLAs told me that they were ashamed to see Amit Shah as Home Minister. There was a time when Sardar Patel was Home Minister and now it's him. They (BJP) were giving assurance that they have made five different governments fall and this will be the sixth one. BJP has been conspiring like this," said Gehlot.
