Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on November 06 stated categorically that India's posturing is, unambiguous-status quo has to be restored and the country will not accept any shifting of LAC.
"Situation along LAC in Eastern Ladakh remains tense, People's Liberation Army (PLA) is facing unanticipated consequences of its misadventure in Ladakh because of Indian Army's firm and strong response.
Our posturing is unambiguous-status quo has to be restored and we will not accept any shifting of LAC.
A full-scale conflict with China is low on probability, but border confrontations and unprovoked tactical military acts spiralling into larger conflict can't be discounted," said CDS Rawat
Army Chief General MM Naravane has said that there is collusive threat emanating from Pakistan & China. Addressing an annual press conference in New Delhi, General Naravane said Indian forces would have to be prepared to deal with a ‘two-front’ threat scenario. The Army Chief added that the two countries have increased cooperation in military and non-military fields and added that the two-front threat is now manifesting itself on the ground as well. The Army Chie’s remarks come amid a tussle with the Chinese Army along the LAC in Ladakh and continuous ceasefire violations and increased infiltration attempts by Pakistan. As India is set to start the vaccination program against COVID-19 on January 16, millions of doses of Covishield vaccine, manufactured by Pune's Serum Institute of India, have reached the length and breadth of the country. Himachal Pradesh has received 93,000 shots on Thursday evening as part of the first consignment which was dispatched from SII's Pune facility. The hilly state has more than 800 active cases of COVID-19. Kerala, which is struggling to keep rising cases under control also received the first batch of the vaccine in Mallapuram. The southern state has more than 65,000 active cases of coronavirus, the highest in the country. Ladakh also got 11,500 doses of the Covishield vaccine as part of the first phase of the vaccination program. BJP MP Jamyang Namgyal and state Health Department Director Dr Phuntsog Angchuk received the vaccine at Leh airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the vaccination program at 10:30 AM on January 16 with 3 crore health and frontline workers being listed to get the shots in the first phase.

The Army jawans were seen marching as part of their rehearsal. Wives of three martyrs received awards during the full dress rehearsal of the Army Day Parade. The martyred jawans had lost their lives in Galwan Valley clash in Ladakh. The Army Day is celebrated across the country on January 15 every year. Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane lashed out at Pakistan over its continued support to terrorists. Speaking at the Army Day celebration, the Army Chief said that Indian forces have been giving a stern response to provocations at the border and added that around 300 to 400 terrorists are waiting across the border to infiltrate into India.
