Congress lashed out at the BJP over the Hindu Mahasabha inaugurating a study centre dedicated to Mahatama Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse.
The former Madhya Pradesh CM called on the BJP and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to clarify whether they backed the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi's killer.
He dared the MP government to put a stop to all such activities and take strict action against the culprit and added that failure to act would imply that the state government backs Godse’s ideology.
This comes after the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha opened a library dedicated to Gandhi’s assassin in Gwalior on Sunday.
A video of the event showed Hindu Mahasabha workers garlanding Godse and performing aarti at the event.
Two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were injured after a clash broke out between BJP and Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers. The incident happened in West Bengal's Purba Bardhaman district on January 19. The injured people were shifted to a hospital.

Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha has opened a study centre in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior city on January 10. The study centre is dedicated to Nathuram Godse. This study centre will inform the young generation about aspects of partition of India and spread knowledge on various national leaders. In a heinous crime, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in Madhya Pradesh's Betul district. After raping the victim, the accused also allegedly tried to bury her alive in a pit. "Case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC, SC/ST Act and POCSO Act. The accused has been arrested," a police official said.
A 22-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh's Barwani filed a written complaint in the police station. She has filed compliant against a man alleging rape and religious conversion. Speaking to media, Station In-Charge (SI) of Barwani, Rajesh Yadav said, "A zero First Information Report (FIR) has been registered based on the written complaint. Further investigation is underway in this regard."

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped in Girwai area of Gwalior on January 13. One of the accused is victim's relative. A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC against the perpetrators. Further investigations are underway.
At least 11 people have died after consuming suspected spurious liquor in Madhya Pradesh's Morena. Police said eight others have fallen ill and were referred to Gwalior for treatment. As per the preliminary reports, some villagers consumed a white-colored liquor. Police added that the autopsy reports will ascertain if the liquor was poisonous or not. State Home Minister Narottam Mishra said a police official has been suspended following the incident. "The incident of deaths caused by drinking poisonous liquor in morena is very sad. The in-charge of the police station concerned has been suspended. A separate team is also being sent to conduct the investigation. People who are responsible for the incident will not be spared," Mishra said.
