Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari said that his government is working to reduce road accidents and deaths by 50% by 2025.

The minister inaugurated Road Safety Month and said that his government will work with different stakeholders to achieve this target.

‘If we wait till 2030, 6-7 lakhs more people will die.

So, we've made a commitment that before 2025, road accidents and deaths due to it will be brought down by 50% with help of people's participation,’ Gadkari said at the event.

He added that the government will spend 14000 crore to identify black spots across the country.

‘This time, till now, we have broken the record of road construction.
