Civilians shouldn't be harassed during R-Day security checks: Kashmir IG
Ahead of Republic Day, Kashmir IG Vijay Kumar said that they are fully prepared for the celebrations.
He said, "Police officials have been instructed to ensure that people are not harassed during security checks in the run-up to Republic Day celebrations...Militants may try to cause some kind of disruption but we are fully prepared."
The Indian National Congress (INC) unveiled the list of 27 star campaigners on Saturday for the Jammu and Kashmir region. Among them are notable figures such as party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. These influential leaders are set to spearhead the party's campaign efforts in Jammu and Kashmir during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which are slated to take place across five phases. The comprehensive list of star campaigners for the parliamentary elections in Jammu and Kashmir was formally presented by INC general secretary KC Venugopal to the Secretary of the Election Commission of India.
