Indian Army personnel are carrying out rescue operation at the site of avalanche in Sumna area of Joshimath Sector in Chamoli district. So far, 384 people have been found safe, 11 bodies have been recovered so far.
Eight Border Roads Organisation (BRO) workers were killed, seven injured and 31 went missing in an avalanche near the Indo-China border in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, officials said on Saturday. Two bodies were recovered from the site in the Sumna area of Niti Valley on Friday night, while six more were recovered on Saturday. Indian Army personnel were seen carrying out rescue operation in the region. Army personnel were seen carrying people in a stretcher. People were even airlifted from Chamoli to Joshimath where they were being treated at the Army hospital. Watch the full video for more details.

At least eight bodies have been recovered after an avalanche hit Sumna area of Joshimath sector in Chamoli district on April 23, informed Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar on April 24. "The avalanche didn't hit ITBP camp. Army camp is safe too. Two BRO camps had 430 people, out of which 384 have returned. Search is on for the rest. A total of 8 bodies recovered from there so far," the Uttarakhand DGP said.

ITBP IG, Anand Swaroop visited Delhi's Sardar Patel Covid care centre on Friday. Swaroop reviewed ground arrangements at the covid centre in Chhatarpur. Senior ITBP officials regularly visit the centre to meet patients, take stock of arrangements. The IG visited the facility for the fourth time in the past 6 days to see the patients. At present, Sardar Patel CCC is managing over 400 Covid patients on oxygen support. The covid facility was jointly established by Delhi govt and ITBP on April 26, 2021. Last year too, during the first wave, the facility was set up to serve Covid patients. Oxygen supply at the centre has been normalised and there's no lack of oxygen for patients. The centre provides medical treatment, medicines, food, etc to patients free of cost. Services inside the centre are managed by doctors, ITBP medical staff and NGO volunteers.
