Clayton Helkenberg and his friend Steve travelled to Lindeman Lake and begun removing any waste they found.
Footage from March 28 shows Steve with piles of can and glass bottles on a sheet of ice.
Helkenberg told Newsflare: "During our dives, we cleaned up trash that has been discarded by careless hikers and swimmers.
My diving buddy Steve did the majority of the clean up while I was having fun swimming under the ice to get come great shots."
