New York City Schools to Return to In-Person Teaching in September.

On Monday, New York City Bill de Blasio announced the city’s attempt to finally end remote learning.

.

De Blasio said that all NYC schools will return to normal, “all in person” learning in September, with “no remote” options available.

That means over one million students will return to over 1,800 schools in the nation’s biggest school district.

One million kids will be back in their classrooms in September, all in person, no remote.

That’s the news I think parents, kids, everyone has been waiting for... , Bill de Blasio, via 'The Daily Beast'.

He went on to stress that NYC could not have a “full recovery” if schools weren’t back “full-strength.”.

You can’t have a full recovery without full-strength schools, everyone back, sitting in those classrooms, kids learning again, so that’s what we’re gonna have in September, Bill de Blasio, via 'The Daily Beast'.

In order to ease any concerns, parents will be able to visit classrooms starting in June to see for themselves what COVID-19 safety measures will be taken.

.

This includes measures such as proper ventilation, cleaning standards and adequate social distancing.

.

In addition, NYC Schools Chancellor Meisha Porter confirmed during a news briefing that face masks would still be required at fully reopened city schools.
