Labour criticise govt lack of planning for Afghanistan
Lisa Nandy, Shadow Foreign Secretary, says the government has done no planning for what was a "conceivable" scenario in Afghanistan and which they were warned about.
She says it is "astonishing" to see the gains made by British troops over 20 years "unwravelling in front of our eyes" as a result.

Severe flooding in Afghanistan, triggered by seasonal rains, has claimed 33 lives and injured 27 in three days, according to a Taliban spokesperson. Flash floods hit Kabul and multiple provinces, damaging over 600 homes, killing about 200 livestock, and impacting 800 hectares of farmland and 85 kilometers of roads.

Scotlandâs first minister Humza Yousaf is battling for his political survival after a chaotic 24 hours which saw him end the SNPâs governing partnership with the Greens on Thursday.
