DRIVER PULLED OVER, FLEES SCENE ON FOOT, LIVINGSTON TEXAS, 09/02/22...

Speeding Driver Flees on Foot After Being Pulled Over, LIVINGSTON, September 2, 2022 - Shortly before 2 pm on September 2, 2022, Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol was patrolling on US-190 East (just east of the Livngston City Limits) when he spotted a late model blue Chevy Malibu doing 82 mph in a 55.

Corporal Bass initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, Shane Tyler Erickson, 32, of San Antonio pulled into the parking lot of Richardson's Agricultural and Outdoors.

Bass spoke with Erickson, Erickson gave Bass his driver's license.

When Bass went back to his unit to run a check on the DL, Erickson jumped out of his car and ran behind Richardson's.

Bass radioed the incident, and then went to look for Erickson.

More Troopers were dispatched to look for Erickson along with a Game Warden.

Erickson managed to evade capture.

Erickson's car had a heavy smell of unlit marijuana.

Erickson's female passenger was temporarily cuffed and detained as the vehicle was searched.

Bass found an open container of alchohol and a small plastic container of marijuana.

Erickson also has a warrant out for his arrest.

At time of press, Erickson remains at large.

His passenger was uncuffed and allowed to drive the car from the scene.
