Labour: Stop listening to Boris and listen to people of NI
Labour has criticised the government's handling of the Northern Ireland Protocol, saying they need to stop listening to their own backbenchers.
Shadow Policing Minister Sarah Jones says its "not acceptable" that the Conservatives are "listening to Boris Johnson and people on their own side and not listening to the people of Northern Ireland".

The prime minister then added “just look what’s happening here, Nottingham Council effectively bankrupt. After having a fire-sale of assets, they still can’t balance the books, in contrast to the extraordinarily well-run Conservative Nottinghamshire County Council". He also said that "whenever Labour runs something, they run it into the ground. In Birmingham, they have effectively bankrupted the largest local authority in Europe. An ex-prisoner has been sentenced to an indefinite hospital order for killing an elderly mobility scooter rider. Lee Byer, 45, was psychotic when he stabbed 87-year-old Thomas O’Halloran in Greenford, west London, in August 2022. Mr O’Halloran, originally from County Clare, was well-known in the Greenford community. Byer, who had had a string of convictions, was released from Wormwood Scrubs five days before the killing. Mental health reports found Byer was psychotic, hearing voices, and suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. Report by Jonesia.
