US President Donald Trump has described Russian President Vladimir Putin as āa professionalā who has effectively handled Western sanctions amid the ongoing Ukraine conflict. The remarks followed a one-hour phone call between the two leaders where Trump pressed Putin on ending the war. While acknowledging Moscowās resilience, Trump hinted that tougher sanctions may be on the way if the conflict continues.
The Kremlin reaffirmed its stance, insisting it would not back down from core goals. Meanwhile, a bipartisan bill in the US Senate proposes a staggering 500% tariff on imports from nations buying Russian energy, escalating the economic pressure.
