This Day in History: US Withdraws From Vietnam

This Day in History:, US Withdraws From Vietnam.

March 29, 1973.

After eight years of an extremely unpopular war with North Vietnam, the last U.S. combat troops left South Vietnam.

Peace talks between the U.S. and communist North Vietnam had begun in 1968, culminating with a peace agreement signed in January of 1973.

Provision of the agreement included a ceasefire throughout Vietnam, the withdrawal of American troops and the release of POWs.

7,000 U.S. Defense Department civilians remained in Saigon to assist the South in their continued efforts against the North.

The remaining U.S. civilians would be airlifted out of Saigon a year later when the city fell to the North.

58,000 American and an estimated 2 million Vietnamese lives were lost in the war

Trump's Air Force One 2.0? Trump’s $400 Million “Flying Palace” Gift from Qatar Sparks Controversy

Trump is at the center of a political and legal storm after confirming plans to temporarily use a $400 million Boeing 747-8 — dubbed the “Flying Palace” — reportedly offered by Qatar’s royal family. Trump claims the ultra-luxurious jet is a “gift, free of charge” to the U.S. government while the new Air Force One fleet faces delays. However, Qatari officials deny it’s a personal gift to Trump and say the deal remains under review with the U.S. Department of Defense. Critics, including top Democrats, warn the arrangement may breach the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause and raise national security concerns over foreign influence. #TrumpQatarDeal #FlyingPalace #QatarGiftToTrump #TrumpJet #QatarRoyalFamily #TrumpAirForceOne #TrumpLuxuryJet #TrumpQatarJet #QatarNews #TrumpPresidentialLibrary #TrumpQatarVisit #TrumpNews #QatarTrumpTies #TrumpPrivateJet #QatarFlyingPalace Also Read Trump Declares Columbus Day Will Remain Unchanged Amid Indigenous Peoples Day Recognition :: https://www.oneindia.com/international/trump-reinstates-columbus-day-amid-indigenous-peoples-day-debate-011-4136967.html?ref=DMDesc Trump Considers Temporary Exemption from Auto Tariffs to Aid Car Manufacturers Amid Economic Challenges :: https://www.oneindia.com/international/trump-considers-temporary-exemption-auto-tariffs-011-4124041.html?ref=DMDesc Trump Dismisses General Tim Haugh from National Security Agency Amidst Congressional Concerns :: https://www.oneindia.com/international/trump-fires-general-tim-haugh-national-security-agency-011-4115013.html?ref=DMDesc

U.S Army Commander Suspended Over 'Missing Trump Wall'| No Photos Of Trump, Vance, Hegseth Displayed

Colonel Sheyla Baez Ramirez has been suspended from command at Fort McCoy after the base failed to display official portraits of President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The glaring omission sparked backlash when empty frames were spotted on the command wall. Defense officials launched an immediate investigation, and the Department of Defense later updated the wall, saying “we fixed it.” Secretary Hegseth confirmed the suspension on X. The military called it an “unusual oversight,” but refused to share further details about the decision. #Trump #JDVance #PeteHegseth #FortMcCoy #MilitaryNews #Army #CommandWall #ColonelRamirez #TrumpAdministration #WhiteHouse #DefenseDept #USArmy #BreakingNews #PortraitFlap #LeadershipShakeup #DOD #TrumpPortrait #MilitaryCommand #USPolitics #ArmyInvestigation #MilitaryControversy #Pentagon #Vance #TrumpSupporters #ArmyBase #SheylaRamirez #NewsUpdate #XPost #GOP #MilitaryReform #CommandScandal Also Read Trump Considers Temporary Exemption from Auto Tariffs to Aid Car Manufacturers Amid Economic Challenges :: https://www.oneindia.com/international/trump-considers-temporary-exemption-auto-tariffs-011-4124041.html?ref=DMDesc Trump Dismisses General Tim Haugh from National Security Agency Amidst Congressional Concerns :: https://www.oneindia.com/international/trump-fires-general-tim-haugh-national-security-agency-011-4115013.html?ref=DMDesc Trump Warns Iran: Strike A Nuclear Deal In Two Months Or Face Unprecedented Bombing :: https://www.oneindia.com/international/trump-warns-iran-strike-a-nuclear-deal-in-two-months-or-face-unprecedented-bombing-4109797.html?ref=DMDesc
