Turkey's EU accession process remains frozen due to democratic backsliding, despite the Mediterranean country's strategic importance and cooperation on migration, MEPs said in their latest report.

U.S- Iran War: United States may request Turkey to remain neutral and avoid interference in Syrian airspace if a conflict with Iran erupts, Hurriyet reports. The matter could be discussed during an upcoming meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Donald Trump. Erdoğan is reportedly opposed to any Israeli aggression against Iran, calling it regionally destabilizing.
