The spill was captured in a video by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of the Ecuadorian Amazon, 10km from Lago Agrio, the capital of Sucumbios in northeast Ecuador.
Ecuadorās President Daniel Noboa has secured re-election with nearly 56% of the vote, defeating leftist challenger Luisa GonzĆ”lez. Amid nationwide unease over rising crime, Noboaās tough-on-crime stance and surprise political rise resonated with voters. Supporters poured into the streets of Guayaquil, cheering the victory. With over 90% of ballots counted, Ecuadorās youngest president is set to continue his leadership. Noboa's win under the National Democratic Action party marks a decisive shift away from Rafael Correaās legacy. Voting was compulsory for Ecuadorās 13 million eligible citizens.
