Tom Brady Is Reportedly in Talks to Become Raiders Minority Owner

Tom Brady Is Reportedly in Talks , to Become Raiders Minority Owner.

Brady has been discussing the potential move with Raiders owner Mark Davis for the past few weeks, sources tell ESPN.

If a deal is reached, Brady is expected to have a "passive" investment and wouldn't "have any operational control or authority over the club," ESPN reports.

.

This wouldn't be the first deal Brady enters into with Davis.

In March, the NFL legend bought a stake in the Las Vegas Aces, a WNBA team mostly owned by Davis.

.

If Brady and Davis agree to terms, Brady's limited partnership would still have to be approved by at least 24 team owners.

Brady's 10-year contract with Fox is slated to begin in 2024, but the network has reportedly "blessed" the potential deal.

Team ownership and media employment only affect league policy when an "owner holds a position of authority at the media company and could impact broadcast rights negotiations," according to ESPN.

An 11-year rights deal between Fox and the NFL was reached in 2021.

After retiring and then coming back to the NFL to play for the Buccaneers, Brady retired for good at the end of the 2022 season, completing 23 seasons with the league

"An extraordinary increase in media revenue" also contributed to the increase, the NFL said. Between 2013 and 2020, the salary cap was increased by approximately $10 million to $12 million each year.
