Iran unveils new 'Kheibar' ballistic missile

Iran's defence ministry unveils its new "Kheibar" ballistic missile with a range of 2,000 kilometres and a capacity to carry warheads weighing more than a tonne.

Whilst Iran says the missile is to provide "support" to its friends and allies, its unveiling comes at a time of heightened tensions in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in which Iran has backed militant group Islamic Jihad.
