The Court of Appeal has refused to change the sentence of Valdo Calocane, who killed three people in Nottingham last summer. Dr Sanjoy Kumar and Dr Sinead OâMalley, the parents of Grace OâMalley-Kumar, attended the hearing. Speaking outside the Royal Courts of Justice following the decision, Dr Kumar said: "The Attorney Generalâs case has not been successful. This is disappointing, but not unexpected." The parents of Grace OâMalley-Kumar have blamed âfailingsâ in the system for a series of stabbing attacks, including a sword attack in Hainault on Tuesday and a school stabbing in Sheffield on Wednesday. Graceâs father, Dr Sanjoy Kumar, said âpositive change is so long overdueâ after a 14-year-old boy was killed in Hainault and three teenage boys were admitted to hospital in Sheffield following the attacks.

The funeral has taken place of an aid worker who was killed in Gaza last month. 47-year-old James Kirby died when his convoy was struck by an Israeli air strike. The funeral of British aid worker James Kirby has taken place today at St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol. Mr Kirby, 47, was one of seven World Central Kitchen (WCK) workers killed in an Israeli drone attack in Gaza in April.
