Three people have been found dead in Nottingham in what police say is a major incident.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two people were found dead on Ilkeston Road just after 4am on Tuesday.

A third man was found dead in Magdala Road.

Three more people are in hospital after a van apparently attempted to run them over on Milton Street.

Nottinghamshire Police believe these incidents are all linked.

The Court of Appeal has refused to change the sentence of Valdo Calocane, who killed three people in Nottingham last summer. Giving their judgment, the Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr said: “There was no error in the approach adopted by the judge. “The sentences imposed were not arguably unduly lenient.” She concluded: “It is impossible to read of the circumstances of this offending without the greatest possible sympathy for the victims of these terrible attacks, and their family and friends."
