Manipur Incident: Police arrests the mastermind and one of the main accused | Oneindia News
The Manipur Police has arrested one of the main accused who was seen in a May 4 video of two tribal women being paraded Naked and molested by a mob at a village in Senapati district.
The Police said that they had said formed several teams immediately after the video of the incident had surfaced.
One of the people, alleged to be the mastermind, was arrested from Thoubal district.
He was prominently seen in the 26-second clip of the shocking video.
Police had issued a statement on Wednesday saying a case of abduction, gang Rape and Murder was registered at Nongpok Sekmai police station in Thoubal district against unidentified armed miscreants and that all-out efforts were on to arrest the culprits at the earliest.
Two members of Arambai Tenggol were arrested for abducting and assaulting four Manipur Police personnel in Kangpokpi district. This marks the second such incident this year involving the group. The abducted officers, from non-conflicting communities, were intercepted while on duty. Tensions between communities in Manipur impact police deployment. The police condemned Arambai Tenggol's criminal activities masquerading as public protection.
