Keir Starmer pledges to transform further education
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to transform further education in a speech to the North East Chamber of Commerce.
Starmer vowed that a Labour government would "get the North East building again" by taking on "the blockers that hold a veto over British aspiration."

Shadow defence secretary John Healey has ruled out raising taxes on working people. It comes as Rishi Sunak accused Labour of increasing taxes by £2,000 per family should they get into government. "We will not be raising income tax or VAT or national insurance - these are the things that count most as people are trying to manage their work income and family budgets," Mr Healey said.
