In a dramatic and provocative letter, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addressed American university students on Thursday, commending their "defense of the Palestinian people" amidst a surge of pro-Palestinian protests on U.S. campuses. His message, "Do not oppress and do not be oppressed," came at a time of heightened tensions and safety concerns for Jewish students.
Khamenei's letter, released during a wave of campus protests demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and divestment from companies with ties to Israel, criticised the U.S. government's support for Israel. He framed the students' activism as part of a larger "Resistance Front" against Zionist oppression, calling Israel's treatment of Palestinians a continuation of "decades of genocide and apartheid." He declared, "As the page of history is turning, you are standing on the right side of it."

An investigation revealed the deadly Israeli airstrike near Rafah refugee camp used U.S.-made GBU-39 small diameter bombs, despite claims they reduce civilian casualties. Debris analysis confirmed the American munitions' origins. While Israel stated the strike targeted militants, it killed 45 Palestinians and wounded over 240, reigniting scrutiny over U.S. bomb exports amidst a significant civilian toll.

Hamas’s armed wing said that the commander of its forces in the Tulkarem area of the West Bank was among four members of the group killed during a day-long Israeli raid in the town of Dayr al-Ghusun. A statement from the Izzaldin al-Qassam Brigades names Alaa Shreiteh, 45, as commander of the al-Qassam Brigades in the Tulkarem governorate. Shreiteh was jailed by Israel between 2002 and 2016. According to the IDF, there was a twelve-hour gun battle in the Tulkarem area of the West Bank between its forces and Hamas militants in which four Hamas men were killed. However, the identity of Alaa Shreiteh was revealed by the al-Qassim brigade early on Sunday. Hamas confirmed that four of the men killed during the raid in Deir al-Ghusun village were from its al-Qassam armed wing. The Palestinian health ministry said their bodies had been taken by the Israeli military. There was no information about the fifth man, whose body was too disfigured for immediate identification, the Palestinian health ministry in the West Bank said.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday that troops from the 98th Division had successfully dismantled and destroyed a network of terror tunnels in Jabalia, Gaza. These tunnels contained the bodies of hostages killed during the October 7 attacks by Hamas.
In recent weeks, the IDF has recovered multiple bodies from Hamas's extensive network of terror tunnels throughout the Gaza Strip. The latest operation resulted in the rescue and recovery of seven hostages, identified as Shani Louk, Amit Buskila, Ron Benjamin, Yitzchak Gelernter, Hanan Yablonka, Michel Nisenbaum, and Orion Hernandez. Tragically, it was confirmed that all seven individuals had been killed on October 7, and their bodies had subsequently been abducted by Hamas.
