On Tuesday, Sgt. Ira Yair Gispan, a 19-year-old Israeli soldier, was killed during combat in the southern Gaza Strip, marking the first IDF fatality in their advance into Rafah. This brings the total number of Israeli troops killed in the offensive against Hamas to 273. The IDF's operations in Rafah, which began last week, aim to target Hamas precisely. During these operations, the Givati Brigade raided a Hamas training camp, killing several gunmen and capturing weapons. Nearly 450,000 Palestinians have evacuated Rafah due to intensified IDF operations. Rafah is believed to house significant Hamas forces, leadership, and potential hostages, but international pressure has prevented a full-scale offensive.
