Labour expresses concerns over 'readiness of British forces'
Labour's Chris Bryant said the party are concerned "about the readiness of the British armed forces." The Shadow Culture Minister said the government has "not had it's eye on the ball" and that armed forces do not have the equipment needed to participate in international conflict.

Sir Keir Starmer has fought back after Rishi Sunak today warned the Labour leader "can't be trusted" to "keep Britain safe", with the risk of nuclear war the highest since the 1960s. The Court of Appeal has refused to change the sentence of Valdo Calocane, who killed three people in Nottingham last summer. Dr Sanjoy Kumar and Dr Sinead O’Malley, the parents of Grace O’Malley-Kumar, attended the hearing. The Court of Appeal has refused to change the sentence of Valdo Calocane, who killed three people in Nottingham last summer. Giving their judgment, the Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr said: “There was no error in the approach adopted by the judge. “The sentences imposed were not arguably unduly lenient.” She concluded: “It is impossible to read of the circumstances of this offending without the greatest possible sympathy for the victims of these terrible attacks, and their family and friends."
