In New Zealand, inhalation chambers were installed in public buildings in 1918 and people were asked to inhale a gas (zinc sulfate) that would protect them from their invented "flu".
Conclusion: people got very sick and many died.
To use public trains, you needed proof that you were in an inhaler compartment.
