Israel approves controversial West Bank settlement project as IDF begins Gaza City assault
Israel gave final approval Wednesday for a controversial settlement project in the occupied West Bank that would effectively cut the territory in two. Meanwhile, the IDF said it had begun the first stages of its planned assault to seize Gaza City.

Hamas has condemned Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s “Greater Israel” remarks as “madness” and a threat to regional stability, urging Arab states to cut ties with Israel and back Palestinian resistance. Hamas accused Israel of using settler violence as part of an annexation strategy in the West Bank, vowing continued defiance against occupation. Iran’s Foreign Ministry also slammed the plan, warning it targets territories in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. Netanyahu called the vision a historical and spiritual mission for Israel.
