French President Emmanuel Macron has called an emergency summit after the US and Russia agreed to hold Ukraine peace talks in Saudi Arabia, excluding the EU and Kiev. The move comes after Trump and Putin’s first direct conversation since 2022, followed by diplomatic discussions on a potential summit. Polish FM Radoslaw Sikorski welcomed Macron’s initiative, emphasizing Europe’s need to counter Trump’s strategy. Ukrainian President Zelensky confirmed his country was not invited. The Guardian reports UK PM Keir Starmer will attend, but France has yet to reveal the full list of invitees.

Trump’s Special Envoy Keith Kellogg made a stunning revelation, stating that the European Union may not be part of negotiations between the US and Russia over Ukraine. However, he confirmed that Kyiv would be present. Kellogg emphasized that discussions should not involve a large group but assured that other stakeholders' interests would still be considered. This comes after a phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, where potential negotiations over Ukraine were discussed. Meanwhile, Kellogg admitted that there are no concrete security guarantees for Ukraine yet, signaling growing uncertainty over the path forward. trump
