Suspects in the March 2024 Crocus City Hall massacre that killed 149 people have reportedly told Russian investigators that a Ukrainian state entity ordered the attack. According to interrogation transcripts cited by Russian media, the attackers â all Tajik nationals â said the assault was executed by ISIS-K but coordinated through a handler named "Saifullo" linked to Ukraine.
The suspects were allegedly promised $13,000 each and instructed to flee to Kiev after the attack. They claimed their weapons came from Ukraine, with operational guidance originating from TĂŒrkiye and Afghanistan. Ukraine has denied any role in the incident, though it has previously admitted to sabotage inside Russian territory. The attack, which also injured over 600 people, marks one of the deadliest in Russia in recent memory. Questions persist around the true orchestrators of the massacre and whether foreign intelligence or proxy actors were involved.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced Ukraine is now fully aligning with European Union sanctions on Iran. In a dramatic statement, Zelenskyy accused Iran of supporting external terror campaigns, engaging in brutal domestic repression, and forging a dangerous alliance with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The move marks Kyivâs most aggressive stance against Tehran, extending Ukraine's sanctions policy beyond Russia to its geopolitical backers. Zelenskyy labeled the Iranian government âone of the most brutal regimes in the worldâ and said Ukraine would contribute to targeting Iranian individuals, companies, and entities involved in both weapons production and regional destabilization. He emphasized the global importance of sanctions against both Russia and its partners. The announcement comes as Iran and Russia deepen defense ties amid the ongoing Ukraine conflict.

Russia has launched its largest aerial attack on Ukraine since the war began, according to Ukrainian officials. Overnight, a staggering 537 aerial weapons â including 477 drones and decoys, and 60 missiles â were fired at targets across Ukraine.
Ukraine's air force reported that 249 were shot down and 226 were likely disrupted by electronic jamming. Yuriy Ihnat, spokesperson for Ukraineâs air force, called the strike âthe most massive air attackâ yet. Areas far from the frontlines, including western Ukraine, were hit. Poland scrambled jets to protect its airspace. Casualties included one dead in Kherson and six injured in Cherkasy, including a child. This assault follows a wave of similar attacks earlier this month, which had already been labelled the most powerful at that point in the war. Damage was reported in Kharkiv, where multiple residential buildings and houses were struck. The escalation signals a grim turn in the nearly three-year conflict.
