Police: No justifiable reason to cut down Sycamore Gap tree

"There could never be a justifiable reason" why two men felled the Sycamore Gap tree, Northumbria Police has said.

Superintendent Kevin Waring also paid tribute to the "unwavering commitment of those involved in the case", after Daniel Graham and Adam Carruthers were found guilty of criminal damage following a trial at Newcastle Crown Court.
