The mighty Assyrian nation received God's mercy after Jonah's reluctant message and their repentance.

Now, Assyria's selfish indulgences will bring His judgment.

Nahum speaks of the doom of Ninevah and the consolation of Judah.

The ancient message is poignant for the 21st century.

God does not slumber nor sleep.

He is always aware.

His mercy is available.

His judgment is certain.

Nahum's prophecy is essentially the second part of Jonah's prophecy to mighty Assyria.
