Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) or Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) in India is a category of people having an annual income less than ₹8 lakhs and who do not belong to any reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC. If an EBC now earns above the limit they will be recognized as General category. Economically Backward Class.
